Passive Infra Red Sensors
These devices are sensitive to body heat and used to detect intruders
once they have crossed the detector beam while within the area where it
has been located. In order to prevent false alarms occurring in premises
subject to possible environmental changes, Quad PIR detection may be
used in place of standard PIR detection.
Pet detectors are now available, for pet sensitive areas of the property

Duel Technology Sensors
These devices combine both passive infra red detection (body heat)
and microwave detection (movement) in one unit. Both elements need
to be triggered for the system to activate and this detector is
often used where hostile conditions are present e.g. Garages – Out
Houses – Warehousing etc., subject to draughts, insects and varying
levels of temperature.
Since the introduction of DD243 and PD6662 dual technology detection
with anti-masking is recommended to provide alarm confirmation and
satisfy new requirements. |

Inertia or Shock Sensor
A electronic device used to detect the physical attack to the an
external window or door. The unit can also incorporate a magnetic
contact which will detect both the physical attack and or, the opening
of the door or window. |
