Jan Purcell and Kailah Eglington Finalists
October 24, 2007 - On Monday the 22nd October, the judging of the Hertfordshire
Business Awards (HBA) took place and both Jan Purcell and Kailah Eglington were
short listed as finalists. Jan has been selected as a finalist for the Business
Person of the Year (she was a finalist in 2006) and Kailah has been selected as
a finalist for Employee of the Year.
The 11th Hertfordshire Business Awards seek to recognise individuals and
companies who have made a real difference to business in the county over the
past 12 months, raising the profile of business excellence and innovation within
Hertfordshire. The awards are made to individuals and companies who are truly
the cream of Hertfordshire enterprise.

The Business Person of the Year Award is made to senior individuals who have
made an outstanding contribution to their company's performance. Jan Purcell was
one of six finalists in 2006. This year, she is one of four.
A mother of four children under the age of 16, Jan has, for 25 years, been a
driving force alongside husband and business partner Chris Purcell, in the
success and continued development of the Company and its commitment to quality
and customer service.
The Employee of the Year Award is made to an employee who has made a significant
contribution to the company's success or their own personal development. Kailah
Eglington was nominated for development, implementation and continuance of the
Work Smarter Initiative, which has had an affect on the Company across the
board.
Judging to select the finalists was done by a panel of HBA independent judges,
chosen for their standing within the region, their experience and expertise
within the local business community.
The winners in each category will be announced at the official black-tie Gala
Awards on Thursday November 29th at Willow Farm, London Colney, where over 800
leading people from the business community will be attending the event.
