As a result of DD243, the alarm installation company must now also incorporate a compliant method of setting and unsetting the system during the exit/entry of the premises, in an effort to eliminate the high number of false alarms being generated during the process of opening & closing.

Permitted Methods of Setting or Unsetting

• Keypad (Note: all means of alarm confirmation will be disabled following an activation on the entry/exit route)
• Proximity Tag – Presented to remote keypad reader to retain full confirmation
• Remote Unsetting via Alarm Receiving Centre to retain full confirmation
• Lock Set /Unset via contacted lock on entry door to retain full confirmation
